  • Using only the most contemporary positive methodology Patty has been professionally training dogs for over 15 years. Huge dogs, tiny dogs, purebreds of almost every breed, rescue dogs, you name it.  Humans of all backgrounds and personalities and temperaments, too.
     
  • Dog-loads of experience came from Patty’s years as a national pet store chain Area Trainer, training new instructors, supervising training programs and working with over 500 dogs personally per year.

  • CleverPup101 Family Dog Training was founded in 2006 in the Greater Akron Area after moving “home” to be close to my amazing mom.

  • Patty has had the pleasure of working with international experts like Wendy Volhard, author of Dog Training for Dummies and Holistic Guide for a Healthy Dog; Catherine O’Driscoll, founder Canine Health Concern - UK; and Karen Arnoff, founder Dog Owner Connection, Canine Forensics Expert. 

  • Being a Cell Dog Training Instructor for Rose’s Rescue Trumbull Correctional Institute Cell Dog Program was both a rewarding and eye-opening experience.  Dogs rescued typically from death row in pounds were trained by inmates under professional direction.  Upon graduation, the dogs are adopted into loving family home settings.

  • Patty worked in “past-life” life in the corporate world, problem solving in the fields of Graphic Design and Sales.  Graduate of the University of Akron, BFA in Graphic Design, Minor in Mathematics.
     
  • Patty’s own dogs through the years: Rusty (Chihuahua/Terrier), Buffy (Cocker Spaniel), Spanky – the original clever pup (Husky/Lab), Spooky (Shelty/Chow), Jersey (Great Dane), Princey Pie (King Charles Spaniel) and Quint (German Short Hair Pointer mix).  The smallest was 10 pounds, the largest was 125 pounds.

  • Pet Professionals of Greater Akron voted Patty as 2010 spokesperson.

  • CleverPup101 donates thousands of dollars annually in training services to pet rescues and local charities.
     
  • Patty is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Instructor and Evaluator – offering Therapy Dog Training and Therapy Dog Volunteer opportunities for you and your dog.  Years of personal experience volunteering for University Hospital of Cleveland Pet Pal Program with her own dogs. 

  • The CleverPup101 Schoolhouse at Yellow Creek opened in July of 2010.  A charming space for group classes plus lots of extra – circulars including a Blessing of the Dogs (August, 2010), a gala Halloween Bash (October 2010), and the first area Doga (Yoga with your dog) Charity Event scheduled for early 2011.
